LX Only Cup, Round 6

Combo: Aston Grand Touring / LX6, 1 hour endurance race
Attending members: Dave Williams (DaveWS), Harry Makriyiannis ([GR]Evolution)

Round 6 of the LX Only Cup was held on Aston Grand Touring where Williams missed the qualifying session due to the event starting 30 minutes earlier than usual. Makriyiannis qualified 3rd with a lap time 2 tenths away from pole position.

First lap was a bit messy for Makriyiannis, who got passed by Jouman from FLP/r at the back straight, but Makriyiannis managed to stay behind Jouman, looking for a place to overtake him and regain his lost position. Meanwhile, Williams who started from 15th place took advantage of a car pileup at T1 and placed himself 9th already. At the same time he was trying to get used to the track as he had never raced on that combo before. Back at the top places, Jouman made a mistake at the very last chicane and spun after hitting the tyres just in front of Makriyiannis, who didn't have any chance of avoiding the blocking car and hit it, fortunatly without receiving any damage to his car. That incident made Makriyiannis drop back to 8th place, whereas Williams avoided the accident and gained few more positions, and soon after placed himself in 4th by the end of front straight. Both drivers started hunting those ahead of them with Williams 3rd after second lap of the race and Makriyiannis down to 6th. At the end of lap 6, the leading Leprekaun from Dynamic Racing, flipped his car at last chicane and had to retire. Ath the end end of lap 10, Makriyiannis managed to catch 3rd place Lococost from Elite Squad and passed him. Williams was by now setting fast lap times and closing the gap to first place really fast. He caught up with Troy from Fragmaster team in lap 15, pushing the car even more in order to make an overtake possible. With less than 15 minutes left, Williams managed to take first place at lap 17 with an easy pass at the back straight and led the race from that point on till the end. Makriyiannis managed to close the gap to Troy as well, but was too far away to battle for the second position. Both My3id Gaming drivers finished on podium with Williams on 1st place and Makriyiannis on 3rd.
