Good form continues with both of our cars finishing in podium places after a rough race.
Our GT1 team missed pole position by only 0.02 sec and ended up in 3rd place on the grid from Team Inferno who were unbelievably only 0.01 sec off pole position holders, F1RST Racing.
The GT2 team took a respectable 2nd position on the grid behind Team Sirius.
Both of our teams had a great start. The GT1 team gaining 2nd position into turn 1 and the GT2 team storming into the lead from the green flag. David Williams who was in our GT1 car couldn't find a rhythm and dropped down to 4th place after few laps. After a few laps in 4th place, Williams got back into the groove and pegged the gap to 3rd place Raymond Mooney in the nFinity car, until he got caught out by off the pace GT2 cars in the sector 2 hairpin. Nikifor Đaković in our GT2 car lost the lead on the 6th lap of the race in a battle with Norbi Kiss of Team Sirius, neither driver backing off. Đaković attacked right away into the next corner misjudging the line Sirius would take causing himself to spin and thus loose several positions. Our bad luck wasn't over just yet, as half way into the stint there was a crashed car on the exit of a high speed corner, Đaković was unaware of this and with little time to safely react hit the car causing a lot of damage that had to be repaired in the next pit stop.
Đaković handed the car over to Karolis Kliaudaitis , after his second stint, who was able to keep an amazing pace up during the next two stints and got the GT2 team back into 3rd place. Meanwhile Williams gave the car over to Hugo Luis who also got the GT1 team back into 2nd after some great stints. During the last hours of the race Laszlo Kotrocz kept our GT2 car in the 3rd with some decent pace but was unable to catch 2nd place #low-racing GT2.
Luis gave the GT1 car over to Martijn Bont a few laps early as the damage caused a higher wear rate on the tires. This meant he had to do one extra pit stop, so lost 2nd position finishing 3rd in the GT1 class like the GT2 team.
After everything that happened, the team is satisfied with the results which keep us in the battle for the titles. The next round will be in Westhill where the team will be aiming to rectify any mistakes and come back strong.
