To apply for a place in our team and in order to maintain it you must meet the standards set out in this document.
What we require from you.
Activity is essential. Without active members a team can not continue to be competitive. Extended periods of inactivity must be preceded by notification.
Whilst individual leagues may run in a linear fashion, a calendar containing several does not. In times of heightened league activity we must have as many members available to participate as possible.
Many teams fall at the first hurdle because they lack discipline. You are required to finish what you started. Dropping out of leagues because of sudden lack of interest is not applauded and without a valid reason will have consequences.
It's all fun and games, except when you are losing, then it's just games. A realistic approach and a will to succeed are essential for success.
We use MSN, IRC, Forums and Teamspeak to communicate our ideas and organise our team. For the most part, we deploy a democratic process on decisions. For this reason members must be able to communicate their opinions using the aforementioned means. There must be no confusion within the team when changes take place. Any confusion is a result of a lack of communication.
Without ambition you will struggle to survive in our competitive environment. We not only try to beat our opponents, but each other as well, with the aim of being the best.
Rome wasn't built in a day, in the same sense a professional gaming team won't be either. It takes patience and some personal sacrifice from all members to get to that point. You will only get as much as you give in a team. If you have the wrong attitude and demand things from others whilst doing little yourself, expect to receive little in return.
A certain level of respect is to be given to people both inside and outside of the team. If you do not know how to respect people and accept different opinions you will not be welcome for long. Occasionally you will be forced to respect decisions on the direction of the team or poll results that did not go in your favour.
Any games we are involved in we get great enjoyment from and expect our members to feel the same way. We are not interested in people who have recently bought a game or have no previous experience of competitive events. By setting this standard we ensure any members that join will be in it for the long haul, not just a short term kick.
Without the will to improve your abilities you will never succeed on a competitive level. We require all members to have not just the characteristics to make a great competitor, but the will to become or remain competitive for the foreseeable future.
Hardware and software requirements.
It's not just the player that needs to perform in order to succeed. You must have hardware capable of playing your chosen game at an acceptable frame rate and graphical level. Your hardware becomes unacceptable the second it hampers your performance.
Users on out of date operating systems or with bloated software that affects their performance may be asked to uninstall/disable any such software or upgrade their OS.
We are not interested in any classic modem users. ISDN is acceptable but ADSL or better is preferred. Connecting to external wireless networks you have no relation to is not acceptable. There is no guarantee such networks will be stable.
If this sounds like the team for you and you meet all of the necessary requirements, you can apply to join here.
