MoE 09/10 - 6h of Kyoto Nat

Quali: 4th, Race: 6th

With winning last round we secured our 2nd place in championship. To become champions we had to win the race and Team Sirius had to have DNF. So this one was just for fun, but turns out that I'm the only one who likes to things nice and organized. As always I got the set ready and drove first quali session. Turns out that I had to do second one later too and missed spots in front of me by just fractions of second, just like Reno did last race.

Few days before the race is when I noticed something might be wrong with Karolis. Niall was doing just enough practice and that was fine as it's really not a hard track to learn.
It's race day and Karolis has still not done any laps. We still thought it's going to be ok as we never had any doubts in him. But he let us down and we had no backup driver. Then Hugo did as a favour and drove last two stints, even he said he's not going to drive LFS for some time at all. Thank you Hugo, you really saved us. DNF in last race of the season would have been just wrong.

As the track surface, aside curbs, is really flat I went for a bit too stiff setup and noticed it wouldn't last 1 hours stints just a day before the race. Tried some last minute ideas, but it didn't work so we were forced to do an extra pit stop. We of course had a slightly faster pace as result of carrying less fuel, but still not enough to make up for this record long pit stop.

I already said that this isn't really a thought track to get pace on, so everyone was on pace and us with virtually two extra stops had no chance of winning, in fact no chance of podium. If it was some other track we probably would have been on podium, but not here. Here that's 6th.

Aside from my sloppy start we virtually had no mistakes. Niall and Hugo drove faultless. I quickly recovered positions too. So in total I might have lost only about 15 sec with providing this video show for you.

However I had good fun and have no regrets of driving this or any of MoE races.

Now I'm looking forward to some rest and new season in fall.
