My name is Alan AKA hack4u. I help run a hackers website called HellBound Hackers. Im incharge of a online magazine called HellBound Hackers Zine which provides people with news about hacking and other "Underground" info. I also help run a Video Game Design Team Website called Galekus. I assist anyone who has computer/internet problems. Im on call for those people in the Palm Beach area in case they need housecalls. Hacktivism

What is Hacktivism?



Hacktivism is hacking to promote politcal ideology. Hacktivists believe that by using proper hacks they can spread their ideas to a greater number of people than more traditional forms of activism. Fewer people can hack, but it affects more people. In simple terms: If you hack a website, to promote politcal ideas, you are a hacktivist. Hacktivism is increasing, more and more hackers are defacing a great number of sites, even some government based.. HackThisSite, which is well known amoungst all hackers, currently has 106588 registered members, and its been nicknamed "hacktivist training ground". Its only a matter of time, before attempts become more co-ordinated and organised between hundreds of hacktivists.



Today, Websites are viewd by hundreds, if not thousands, of people so its obvious to see why defacing wesbites is becomming the new activism. Denial of Service attacks are also frequently used for hacktivism, where entire sites can be taken offline for hours. Usally to be replaced with a politcal defacement.




How to get involed:



One person with a computer has more power than 100 who don't. Remember this. If your good at hacking, and you deface a site with a politcal message, THOUSANDS will see your message before the site is taken offline. Many politcal defacements are also broadcasted over the news, again, reaching thousands more. Nearly every site on the internet has atleast 1 way to gain access, hundreds still are vunerable to simple HTML injection!! There are still a stupid amount of racist, right-wing and child pornography sites, that the police and gouvernment will not remove. The internet can be a much safer place without these websites.
