Ok, after some time here it is, I packed up a new video from an event. As I experienced unexpected internet problems just minutes before OLFSL race 6 I had no choice but to give up on that race. I wasn't satisfied with season overall there, no competition apart from my teammates, uninteresting combos bad admining etc. So I withdrew from rest of the season there and focused on Masters of Endurance, the most prestigious league in LFS for years now.
This year, for the first time, we entered a GT2 car too. As the most experienced driver in our GT2 lineup I felt honored to help the guys out. We kinda couldn't get the quali set working, so we started 3rd of the grid. However since the start finish straight is pretty long here, it wasn't such a bad position.
As always we had a rolling start and I had great reaction passing for the 2nd position right away. Before the race I expected that to happen and promised myself not to attack for the lead in turn one, rather back off slightly and draft pass leader for the next corner. This showed as a wise choice as the leader took T1 too aggressive and crashed into GT1 cars which experienced crash moments before we arrived there. However, I had to slow down little bit more and that gave opportunity for few cars to pass me. Quickly, I got myself together and immediately got back to 2nd position, closing down to the leader for rest of the lap. But getting the lead was harder than expected as every time I would close the gap on about a second to him, something would've happened to me. Like for example lap 4, Inferno being way too aggressive. Also GT1 cars caught me every time in damn corners and iNFiNiTY was lucky enough to have them on following straight. As an example take a look lap 19, when I interrupted GT1's race for 2nd place. But once I caught up with him under 1 sec, there was nothing that could have saved him any more. I'm sorry about little bump I gave him in lap 24. Lap 25's pass was something really special. It's hard to describe the feeling that you have when you take over the lead.
From then on, I was just building gap to them. But Sirius, who were on pole and crashed in T1, were picking up places, passing cars one by one. In my 2nd stint you can see how I had some laughs with GT1 cars. For example, look at lap 45 when I sow n1 racing crashed in bridge corner. Bad thing to see, as that's the most dangerous corner out there, but as you see how careless they were passing me in lap 56, you quickly understand why they crashed out.
I gave the car to Lassy for next two stints and he had no problems until final laps of his 2nd stint when he crashed in already mentioned bridge corner. That cost us quite some time as we had to repair the damage. Lassy gave the car to Karolis then. Karolis had good pace keeping the lead, but time loss by the crash was obvious. Karolis was pushing really hard to mantain the gap, as Sirius was already on 2nd position by then and once he picked the turn ones curb and caused the damage which will later give us lot of problems.
My 3rd stint started with some good laugh at XRR's turbo lap, lap 183.
I caught infinity guys again in lap 189, but this time to lap them. You can see how much could have cost me moment of focus loss there, thank God that there's no wall out of chicane. But yea, that also happens when backmarkers are crazy aggressive and you have to outbrake them, instead they letting you by. Just take a look at next insert. spdo gave me hard time lapping them, as I was much more careful next time in chicane, not risking anything, but I quickly understood that they're ignoring blue flags totally so I had to attack like we're racing for positions just corners after.
I mounted next insert to show a real fair play from nfinity team as I was lapping them. Thank you guys.
And then there's the funniest pass on a backmarker after that.
Last insert shows how hard it was to drive the car with the damage we had. We had really soft right front damper and almost no camber on that tire. I had to push as hell, since Sirius was catching us and unexpected things happened.
I guess we learned that we should repair the damage if there is more than 100 laps to go, instead of being too optimistic and hopping to handle it. Hope doesn't help, wise decisions do.
Sirius passed us, staying longer on track and so driving faster lap times.
I gave the car over to Karolis for another two stints and he had puncture in next stint as he once again pushed too hard trying to catch Sirius and making damage even worse.
So we finished in 2nd position, in our very first GT2 race, as our GT1 teammates took very first victory for My3id Gaming in Masters of Endurance.
It was a good day overall for us and everyone is looking forward for more in next round that's going to be held on streets of South City.Tags / Keywords:
